Do you want to look younger, improve facial balance and symmetry, or enhance your features? Would you like to accomplish all of this without surgery? A liquid facelift at the Laser and Skin Surgery Center of Indiana can help you achieve the look you want without surgery using FDA-approved injectables.
A liquid facelift uses a combination of injectable wrinkle relaxers and dermal fillers. Wrinkle relaxers, like BOTOX and Dysport, smooth expression lines in the upper face, while dermal fillers reshape, enhance, and restore lost facial volume.
The Laser and Skin Surgery Center of Indiana (The LASSI) is more than just a dermatology clinic. Offering medical and cosmetic procedures, the LASSI also leads various clinical trials. In fact, we led a clinical trial for BOTOX prior to its initial FDA-approval for use as a cosmetic wrinkle relaxer.
Unlike many cosmetic practices, ours is led by an internationally-recognized board-certified dermatologic surgeon. With decades of experience in dermatology and cosmetic surgery, our founder Dr. C. William Hanke brings a level of expertise not found in many aesthetics practices in Indianapolis. When you come to the LASSI, you are entrusting your care and results to an expert dermatologist who not only performs these treatments but teaches other physicians on their proper use.
Dr. Hanke lectures internationally and is published in numerous peer-reviewed publications related to medical and cosmetic dermatology.
Liquid facelifts are more than just a BOTOX or lip filler treatment; they are full-face rejuvenation procedures using FDA-approved cosmetic injectables. Each liquid facelift is unique and catered to the patient’s individual needs.
Wrinkle Relaxers: BOTOX, Dysport, Xeomin, and/or Jeuveau are used to smooth lines in the upper face, lift the brows, and open up the eyes. Applications include:
In some cases, wrinkle relaxers may also be used to tighten the jawline and provide a non-surgical neck lift to round out your new look.
Dermal Fillers: Fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane, and Sculptra are used for volume restoration, anti-aging, and facial enhancements. Some ways we use dermal fillers include:
For a liquid facelift, we mostly focus on cheeks, folds, and jowls, to restore fullness and improve lift.
Which injectables will you need to see the best results? We will determine this during your consultation. Dr. Hanke will examine your skin, discuss your goals and concerns, and come up with a treatment plan unique to you.
If we determine you are a good candidate for injectables, we will proceed with a liquid facelift procedure. Prior to the first injection, topical numbing cream or ice will be applied to maximize comfort. Most dermal fillers contain a small amount of lidocaine, a local anesthetic, to numb the area during treatment.
As every liquid facelift is different, the number of injections and injection sites will vary. However, Dr. Hanke performs each injection with a fine gauge needle or a tiny cannula. Most patients describe the injections as a “slight pinching” sensation and subsides as the treatment progresses. Following the injections, we apply ice to ensure comfort and reduce swelling.
Before you leave our office, we will:
To ensure the best results and reduce the risk of side-effects, it’s important to follow all instructions and keep your appointments.
There is little-to-no downtime with injectables, though you will experience some bruising and swelling at the injection site for a few days.
Results will vary, as every liquid facelift is unique. However, wrinkle relaxers will take full effect after approximately five to seven days, while fillers could take up to four weeks to settle. This depends on the filler and treatment area, so expectations will be discussed during your appointment. Following treatment, your results may last from three months to two years. This depends on the injectables used, the treatment area, and even your metabolism. If a follow-up appointment is requested, we will assess your initial results and if necessary, inject more product to improve your results.
This procedure is unique to every patient, so we recommend asking questions during your appointment, so we can appropriately and specifically address your needs/questions at that time. However, we have included a few frequently asked questions and answers about liquid facelift procedures below.
A liquid facelift is not the same as a skin tightening facelift. However, BOTOX and fillers can be strategically placed to lift and fill the skin, making it appear tighter. We may recommend other treatments prior to your injectables to improve the health and suppleness of your skin, such as microneedling or laser skin resurfacing.
Treatment costs vary as needs are customized to each individual patient. No two patients require the exact same injectables, at the same doses, and at the same injection sites. We will provide you with pricing information once we determine which products and how much will be required to give you the best results.
All treatments carry a certain amount of risk. We mitigate those risks prior to treatment to ensure you are able to safely receive treatment. That being said, there are some common side-effects you should expect following any injectable treatment, such as bruising and swelling. This can last for a few days and will subside gradually. Dr. Hanke has developed techniques to minimize or eliminate bruising and swelling.
Liquid facelifts are 100% non-surgical and minimally invasive. They provide little-to-no downtime and also offer benefits that a surgical facelift cannot provide: volume restoration. Surgical facelifts (rhytidectomy) only address loose, sagging skin; they do not address volume loss and facial hollows. Therefore, surgeons recommend that facelift patients receive injectables to restore lost facial volume. Some will even get a little BOTOX.
While many patients can benefit from a liquid facelift without any surgery, some patients will not see the full results they desire without some surgical intervention. Discuss your unique needs with Dr. Hanke during your consultation to find out the best options for you.
