What is laser hair removal and how does it work?
Laser hair removal is the removal of unwanted hair using a laser. The laser works by heating the hair follicle and damaging or destroying it so the hair won’t grow back for a long period of time.
Does it hurt?
The hair removal technology used by Dr. Hanke in our Indianapolis dermatology practice, called Soprano Ice, has been described by his patients as being similar to a “warm stone massage.” His patients have stated that because of the cooling system of Soprano Ice, hair removal treatments are comfortable and relatively painless.
What areas can I treat?
Common areas treated by Dr. Hanke include the chin, underarm, upper lip, sideburns, legs, back, and bikini line.
How long do treatments take?
Depending on the area treated, smaller areas, including the upper lip, can be completed in a very short time, possibly even 2 to 5 minutes. Treatment of the face and underarms can take from 5 to 15 minutes and the bikini line can take about 30 minutes. Larger areas of the body such as the back and legs can take 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes.
At your consultation appointment with Dr. Hanke, he will discuss your hair removal treatment procedure and what you can expect during and after treatment. He can also answer any additional questions about the Soprano Ice system you may have.
