What is a Physician Assistant (PA)?

A Physician Assistant is a midlevel provider with a professional license to practice medicine under the supervision of a licensed physician. PAs are nationally certified and hold a state license to practice. PAs must pass national board exams every 10 years. PAs diagnose and treat illnesses, perform physical exams and procedures, prescribe medication and order/interpret lab tests. PAs also provide education and counseling.

At the Laser and Skin Surgery Center of Indiana, our PAs work directly under the supervision of Dr. Hanke. Depending on availability, new patients will have the opportunity to meet Dr. Hanke. Here at the Laser and Skin Surgery Center of Indiana, we utilize a team approach.
